Adding a File/Folder to ECS

ECS allows users to add a file/folder to archive it safely and securely. Users can add numerous files and folders to ECS and can perform various actions.

To add a file or folder to ECS:

On the Home > My Files page, click the Plus button or right-click anywhere on the homepage.

  • The following options are displayed when the Plus button is clicked or when user performs right-click anywhere on the homepage:
    • New Folder – to create a new folder in ECS.
    • Upload Files – to upload a new file.
    • Upload Folder – to upload a new folder.
    • Upload form – to upload form

Select an option as per the requirement. The below image shows selecting an option Upload Files for adding a file.

The Open window is displayed on screen to select a file/folder from local drives.

Select the desired file and click Open. A message appears stating that the file is uploaded as shown below.

The added file will be displayed in ECS under My Files > Recent as shown below.

To Create Upload Form in ECS

Select an option. The below image shows how to create a Upload Form.

Create New: To create a new form, provide inputs as shown below.

Form: The form section is used for identifying the form details

Form Title: Provide a Form Title details as subject related to the content in the form.

Instructions (Optional): To guide a form what are the messure to be take care or else instructions for specific identification of a form.

Ask respondents to provide a folder name: Enable option will provide respondents to create a subfolder to upload a file at created URL for the selected folder in the Setting section

Ask respondent to add tags for each file/folder: Enable option will provide respondent to add tags for each file/folder while uploading at created URL form.

Click Next

Settings: Provide detailed information to create settings for generated URL/Link.

Upload files/folder to: Select file/folder location to upload or create a new folder

Apply Retentions (Optional): Click Dropdown to select folder-based retention will be displayed to upload the file into it.

Apply Legal Hold (Optional): Click Dropdown to select folder-based legal hold will be displayed to upload the file into it.

Add Tags (Optional): Provide add tags description

Form URL/Link Settings:  To create URL/Link Settings

Link Status: Enable/Disable the link as required

Password: URL/Link can be protected by providing a password to access

Expire Date: URL/Link expire date can be created

Click on Generate Link

URL: Generated URL/Link can be used or shared among the users.

Users can access it by generating a URL/Link and password.

Use Existing Form

Active: User can find enabled URL/Link at Active section. In further, it can be used to edit or delete

In-active: If URL/Link is disabled, it will be in the In-active section. It can enable if required and further it can be used to edit or delete

Note: Enable/disable reminder message will be notified.
