Sharing a File/Folder

Use Share+ option to share any file or folder with individuals or user groups within an organization. Examples of user groups are Marketing, Publishing department, and so on. After sharing the file/folders, email notifications are sent to recipients to notify about the shared files.

To share a file/folder:

  • Select a file/ folder, right-click on it, and then click Share+

  • The following screen is displayed on the screen:

  • The Share window contains two sections for sharing: Share with and Share via link.
    • Use Share with section to share the file/folder directly with people or groups within an organization by selecting names and giving permissions.
    • Use Share via link section to copy the auto-generated shareable link of the file/folder, set the permissions, and then share it with the person in the organization.
  • Enter the following details under Share with section to directly share with people in an organization:
    • Select people or group with whom the file will be shared in the Invite People or Group.
    • Select the type of action that receiver can perform on the shared file/folder in the Permissions field. The following are the permissions available:
      • Edit: The receiver can edit the shared file/folder.
      • Commenter: The receiver can comment on the shared file/folder.
      • View: The receiver can only view the file/folder.
      • Preview: The receiver can preview the file/folder.
      • Upload: The receiver can upload the file/folder.
  • Click SHARE. An email notification will be sent to users specified in the Invite People or Group field.

Example

  • To share the file link with other users:
    • Click Copy button in the Share Via Link section.
    • Select the file permissions from the list.
    • To make the link inactive, disable the Link is Active toggle (optional).
    • Send the link to receiver.
